What is the difference between a toggle button and a toggle list in custom fields?

A toggle button custom field is a simple field with a Yes/No answer.  

A toggle list is a group of related toggle buttons, all of which can be set individually to Yes/No.  In this example, the toggle list field is called 'Profile'.
