In general, candidates are not notified automatically about anything – you choose when to advise people. 'Not Actively Looking' (NAL) profiles do not have any extra visibility in this regard.

The exceptions to this are:

  • If you add an anonymous (unconnected) NAL profile to assignment.
  • If you add a person profile with an email address that exactly matches a NAL profile's email address.

In both these cases, the NAL person will be sent an email suggesting that it might be a good idea to connect to your firm.  No details about the assignment are shared in this email.

When importing a profile with the Outlook add-in, there is an option to send a message to the person (by ticking the checkbox at the bottom of the add-in panel).  This will send a standard email thanking them for their CV.  By default, this checkbox is not ticked, so it will take manual intervention for the message to be sent.
