Duplicates can occur if a profile is entered using a CV which does not include a social media URL, and a user later tries to import the same person from their social media profile. As there is nothing to match against (ie. social media URL v email), the system doesn't know that it is a duplicate.

 

To help with this situation, when you are on a profile in Chrome, the extension will search for the matching person in Ezekia.  If it finds people at the same company, it will list them in the extension.  It does this as any potential duplicates will be easy to spot in the list.  If you see the person you want is already in the list, you can select that record and update it instead of importing.

 

An exact match with the URL on the profile is shown in the list of profiles with a green tick next to the matching record.  In this case, you can only 'Update', and not 'Import' the profile.
