As an Administrator, you can now create your own invoice templates in Word, similar to the way that you can create custom Word project reports. This means that you can create invoices with all your firm's branding including fonts, colours, images and logos.
Templates can be created on the Settings, Billing page and switch to the 'Word' tab (1). By default, there are no Word invoices set up, but you can create a sample one by clicking 'Add default templates' (2).
This will give you a typical layout invoice template that you can adjust to your own standards, or if you prefer, you can create your own template from scratch. Use icon (3) to download the sample template so that you can examine it. You can pick new fields for use in the template, from the available list under the 'Keys for billing templates' icon.
From there, the process is much the same as amending a custom Word template. You can find a video explaining this process here (we can help if you have any problems). You can add the new template onto the system with 'Add new template', but remember to delete the old one first to avoid confusion. An example template has been attached to this FAQ page(you will need to open the FAQ page full-screen to be able to access it). You are welcome to adjust it to suit your own branding and requirements.
Once the template is in place, you can select it for use when downloading an Invoice from an invoice record (it cannot be used in a preview). In this example, there is an option to use the old PDF template instead - I could remove that template in the Settings, Billing, 'PDF' tab if necessary.
