We use a market-leading, best-in-class parsing service to decode the contents of CVs and enter the data into the relevant fields in Ezekia. While this service is highly effective in most cases, several factors can influence the accuracy of the parsing process.

Factors Affecting Parsing Accuracy

  1. Document Type
    • Word Documents (.doc/.docx): These are typically straightforward to decode, and you will usually achieve excellent results.
    • PDF Documents: PDFs are inherently more complex than Word documents, which can result in lower decoding accuracy.
  2. Document Structure
    • Tables or Columns: Documents with lots of tables or columns - whether Word or PDF - are more challenging to decode. This can impact the accuracy of the parsed results.
    • Image-Based PDFs: PDFs saved as images (rather than text) cannot be parsed by the service. To determine if a PDF is image-based, try highlighting text in the document. If the text cannot be highlighted, it is an image, and parsing will not work.
  3. Embedded Images
    • Embedded images, such as candidate photos, cannot be decoded by the parsing service, regardless of the document type.

How to Enable AI CV Parsing

We also offer an AI Parsing feature that uses advanced machine learning to improve the extraction of data from CVs. This can provide better results, particularly for complex, non-English language, or less standardised documents. It may be worth a little experimentation to see if you get better results using traditional, or AI CV parsing.

  • How to Enable and Disable: Administrators can enable or disable AI Parsing for all users by navigating to Settings > Integration > Resume/CV Parsing > Enable AI parsing:
  • Important Note: Enabling AI Parsing will only impact CVs uploaded after the feature is turned on. It will not apply retrospectively to profiles or CVs that were already uploaded prior to activation. To benefit from AI Parsing, please re-upload any previously parsed CVs.
  • AI Parsing Variability:While AI Parsing can provide significant improvements, it is important to understand that AI parsing uses probabilistic models to interpret and extract data, which means it may occasionally produce different results for the same CV when uploaded multiple times. This is a natural aspect of how AI works, especially when dealing with complex or less standardised CV formats. For optimal results, use clear and well-structured CVs, preferably in Word format, and re-upload documents as needed if results are not satisfactory.
