Ezekia MCP allows you to connect Microsoft Copilot to your Ezekia account so you can search, create, and update records using natural language.

This guide explains how to connect the Ezekia MCP connector to Microsoft Copilot using Copilot Studio, and publish it for use in Microsoft 365 applications such as Teams, Word, Outlook and Excel.

Important Tip - Involve Your IT / Microsoft Administrator

This setup involves Microsoft 365 configuration, licensing validation, and Power Platform permissions. We strongly recommend involving your internal IT team, MSP or Microsoft administrator before beginning. Most setup issues relate to Microsoft licensing, tenant policies, or environment permissions rather than the Ezekia connector itself.

Prerequisites

You will need:

  • Access to Copilot Studio
Requires a Microsoft 365 tenant. Availability depends on your Microsoft licensing and whether Copilot Studio is enabled in your organisation.
  • Permission to create connections in Power Platform
Usually available to standard users, but may require Environment Maker access or admin approval if your tenant is restricted. Controlled by Microsoft environment policies.
  • An active Ezekia account
Each user will authenticate using their own Ezekia login via OAuth.
  • A Microsoft 365 Copilot licence
Required for the agent to function inside Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams Copilot and other Microsoft 365 applications. Licensing is managed by Microsoft.

Step 1 - Select or Create an Environment and Create a New Agent

Open Copilot Studio: https://copilotstudio.microsoft.com

You may use:

  • The Default environment
  • An existing Production environment
  • Sandbox environment
  • Or create a new environment

All environment types should work, but the choice depends on your organisation’s Microsoft governance and security policies.

Once you are in your chosen environment:

  1. Click Create
  2. Select New agent
  3. Enter a name
  4. Click Create

Wait until you see: “Your agent has been provisioned.”

Step 2 - Add the Ezekia MCP Tool

  1. Open your agent
  2. Navigate to the Tools tab
  3. Click Add tool
  4. Select Ezekia MCP
  5. Click Add and configure

Step 3 - Sign Into Ezekia (OAuth)

A secure Ezekia login window will open.

  1. Enter your Ezekia email address
  2. Complete the sign-in process
  3. Authorise the connection

When successful, the connection will show as connected.

The connector operates under the permissions of the Ezekia user who signs in.

Each user who uses the agent will be required to authenticate via OAuth the first time they interact with it.

Step 4 - Set Credentials to End User Credentials (Required)

In the tool configuration:

  1. Expand Additional details
  2. Locate Credentials to use
  3. Select: End user credentials. This ensures each user authenticates with their own Ezekia account rather than using a shared credential.
  4. Click Save.

Step 5 - Confirm the Tool is Enabled

Confirm that:

  • The tool toggle shows Enabled
  • The connection status shows Connected

Step 6 - Test the Agent

  1. Open the Test panel
  2. Enter a simple query
  3. If prompted, open Connection Manager
  4. Click Connect
  5. Select the connection and submit
  6. Click Retry if required

Once connected, the agent should return data from Ezekia.

If issues occur at this stage, they are typically related to Microsoft environment permissions or connection policies.

Step 7 - Publish the Agent

  1. Click Publish
  2. Leave “Force newest version” selected (recommended)
  3. Click Publish

Wait until publishing completes. Any future changes require publishing again.

Step 8 - Add Microsoft 365 Channels

  1. Go to the Channels tab
  2. Select: Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot
  1. Enable: Make agent available in Microsoft 365 Copilot.

This allows the agent to appear inside Microsoft 365 applications.

Step 9 - Make the Agent Available to Your Organisation

Under Show in the store, select:

Show to everyone in my org

If prompted:

  • Confirm sharing permissions
  • Click Update

Admin approval may be required depending on your Microsoft tenant configuration.

Step 10 - Confirm Environment Security Settings (If Required)

If users cannot see or access the agent:

  1. Open Power Platform Admin Center
  2. Select your environment
  3. Review the Security group setting

If a security group is assigned, only members of that group can access the environment and the agent.

Environment access is controlled by Microsoft.

Licensing Requirement

To use the agent inside:

  • Microsoft Teams
  • Word
  • Outlook
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot chat

Users must have a valid Microsoft 365 Copilot licence.

Without this licence, the agent will not function in those applications.

Licensing is controlled entirely by Microsoft.

Final Configuration Checklist

Confirm that:

  • An environment is selected
  • Agent is created
  • Ezekia MCP tool is added
  • Credentials are set to End user credentials
  • Connection status = Connected
  • Tool is enabled
  • Agent is published
  • Microsoft 365 channel is added
  • Visibility is set correctly
  • Users have Microsoft 365 Copilot licences
  • Environment security settings allow access

Where Users Can Access the Agent

Once fully configured and licensed, users can access the agent in:

  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot
  • Word
  • Outlook
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint

Final Note

The Ezekia MCP connector does not require additional configuration beyond connection setup.

However, each user must authenticate via OAuth using their own Ezekia login the first time they use the agent.

Most setup issues relate to Microsoft licensing, tenant policies, environment permissions, or channel publishing settings, which are managed within Microsoft 365 and Power Platform.

Microsoft Documentation & Platform Changes

The steps above are performed inside Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Platform, which are Microsoft products. User interfaces, navigation, and terminology may change over time as Microsoft updates the platform. If screens appear different from those shown in this guide, please refer to Microsoft’s official documentation:

Please note:

  • Copilot Studio and Power Platform are third-party Microsoft platforms.
  • Navigation, permissions, and licensing requirements are subject to Microsoft updates.
  • Any changes to Microsoft UI or policies are outside of Ezekia’s control.
