Due diligence is an optional feature of Ezekia that allows firms to set up a series of background checks for person records. For example, you might want to check if the person had any convictions. The checks themselves are conducted using Google, with the parameters you specify. You can then record anything found on the person record. The user can choose to add a flag indicating the significance of the due diligence check, which can then be included on custom reports and the client portal.
Note that Ezekia is currently in an early release phase of this feature, so we expect more functionality to be added later.
Setup
By default, no due diligence icons will appear unless you set up due diligence criteria. Only administrators can add due diligence criteria.
Navigate to Settings, Global and scroll down to the due diligence section. By default, it will be empty. Click 'Add a phrase' to enter a new search phrase. Here are some examples - you can have as many, or as few, as you like.
The highlighted phrase in each section will be appended to the person's name, and a Google results page will be returned.
Using Due Diligence
Once you have some Due diligence phrases set up, a new icon will appear on every person record.
When the icon appears as shown, it means that no due diligence has been performed, but the icon will display in other colours to indicate a check has been performed and how significant the results are.
Click the icon to begin a due diligence check. On the next page, you can click on any of the 'Search on Google' buttons to perform that search.
A new tab will open with the results. You can copy any text you need to save, so that it can be pasted into Ezekia at the top of the Due Diligence page:
After this text is saved, you can select a significance rating from the list.
And mark which of the due diligence checks were performed:
The icon shown on the person record will now be shown in the colour relevant to the significance rating chosen. The name of the rating is in the tooltip. This rating information can be accessed in custom reports and in the client portal.
