Ezekia allows you to flag companies and individuals as off-limits to honour legal obligations or align with client preferences. You can easily flag any companies that match your off-limit agreements and any people currently working for those companies.
What Are Off-Limits Flags?
Off-limits flags in Ezekia serve two purposes:
- Legal Off-Limits: To honour contractual obligations by restricting recruitment from specific client companies.
- Preference-Based Off-Limits: To align with client or firm preferences, avoiding recruitment from certain companies or individuals.
There is no distinction between these purposes in Ezekia other than the notes left when setting the off-limits flags. Flags can be applied at both the company and individual person levels.
How to Flag Companies and Individuals as Off-Limits
The process for flagging companies or individuals is the same:
- Open the record (company or individual) in Ezekia.
- Click the flag icon located next to the company logo or individual profile picture top left:
- Add a date for expiry and notes to specify the reason for flagging (e.g. legal or preference-based) and click save.
Please note: Once flagged, company-level off-limits automatically apply to all individuals currently linked to that company. Individual off-limits will continue to apply even if that person moves company.
Individual off limits agreements take precedence over company-wide ones. So if someone has an off-limits entry directly tied to their profile, that entry will remain in place and override any broader agreements at the company level.
The system won’t remove or update those older entries automatically due to the precedence order (Person>Company), but if you delete those person-level entries, the system will automatically apply the company-wide off limits to any current employees.
How to maintain off-limits
You can access off-limits from the three-bar menu icon in the top right corner of your Ezekia, then select 'Off-limits' from the list:
Here you will be able to maintain all company and people records you have flagged as off-limits within Ezekia:
Importing and Linking Records
To ensure flags are applied correctly:
- When importing profiles via LinkedIn or other sources, link individuals to their respective companies.
- During LinkedIn imports, use the blue company button at the top of the person import page in the extension to select the associated company.
- Proper linkage ensures that company-level flags are inherited by the linked individuals.
How Off-Limits Flags Behave in Ezekia
- For Assignments:
- Off-limits flags do not prevent attaching flagged contacts to assignments but act as a visual indicator.
- Users can still proceed but must consciously decide to override the restriction.
- For Target Companies:
- Similarly, flagging does not block marking a flagged company as a target.
- Flags serve as a reminder of legal or preference-based restrictions, prompting a deliberate choice.
Summary:
The onus is on users to ensure proper linkage during imports and to verify flags on profiles before initiating contact. Ezekia provides the tools to honour off-limits agreements and preferences while maintaining flexibility for users.
