Zapier is a third party integration platform that lets you connect any application that is integrated with it, with any other application that is integrated with it.  Thousands of software platforms are integrated with Zapier - apart from Ezekia, platforms such as Outlook, Mailchimp, Slack, Survey Monkey and Xero are all on Zapier.

Zaps usually work by something on an application (a new record, change of status, etc) acting as a trigger, then Zapier running through a series of steps defined by the user to perform the required actions.

These are all things we have seen Zapier used for:

  • Surveys.  Typically, when a candidate reaches a certain pipeline status, firms often want them to automatically be sent a link to a survey application about how their service was, or perhaps a questionnaire about employment history.  When the person completes the survey and submits the response, the answers can be automatically stored in an Ezekia field on the right person record or sent to another application.
  • Mailing applications.  We use this ourselves.  When a new person is added with an email address, a corresponding record is created in the mailing application.  Lists or tags on the person can be used to add tags in the mailing application for segmentation purposes.
  • Financial applications. Creating an invoice in Ezekia can add a corresponding invoice in your finance application, and when that is marked as paid, the Ezekia record can be marked to reflect that.
  • Automation.  Many firms want specific things to happen, for example, when a candidate is placed.  It might be to change the assignment status, end the candidate’s current role, add the new role, set their off-limits flag, etc.
  • Notifications. When something important happens (such as a new assignment is created), some firms want to send notifications via an instant message platform like Slack.
  • Other applications. Zapier isn’t restricted to just Ezekia – you can connect all sorts of applications.  It is very useful in automating manual copy and paste processes between applications, for example.
